Marigold and purple Mexican mosaic flower pot with hand-cut Talavera tiles and an appliquéd Mexican folk art "tecolote" (owl) from Izucar de Matamoros, Puebla.
6 3/4" diam. x 5 1/2" tall
Pot has a drainage hole.
PROCESS: Hand-cut pottery pieces and tiles were applied to a terra cotta pot. The pot was grouted and then sealed with a professional grade sealant to resist water and stains. Pot was wiped clean and tiles were buffed with a soft cloth.
RECOMMENDED USE: To ensure many years of use, I recommend placing your plant in a plastic container before putting it into the flower pot. The pot should be brought indoors in freezing temperatures or in periods of extended rain. Hand-cut tiles sometimes have sharp edges so please handle with care.
Happy growing!
NOTE FROM TRINIE: I collect Mexican folk art and Mexican pottery. Through the years, thanks to one mishap or another, I have amassed a few broken pieces that I am now incorporating into my mosaics. The old Mexican shards are getting a nueva vida (new life). I hope you enjoy them as much as I do making them!
