Green & rust Mexican mosaic flower pot with vintage pottery pieces from a 1940s broken Mexican "bandera" plate from Tlaquepaque.  These plates were called "bandera" (Spanish for flag)  because their colors were loosely similar to the red, white and green in the Mexican flag.

6 1/2" diam. x 3 1/2" tall

Pot has a drainage hole.

PROCESS:  Hand-cut pottery pieces and tiles were applied to a terra cotta pot.  The pot was grouted and then sealed with a professional grade sealant to resist water and stains.  Pot was wiped clean and tiles were buffed with a soft cloth.

RECOMMENDED USE:  To ensure many years of use, I recommend placing your plant in a plastic container before putting it into the flower pot. The pot should be brought indoors in freezing temperatures or in periods of extended rain.  Hand-cut tiles sometimes have sharp edges so please handle with care.

Happy growing!

NOTE FROM TRINIE:    I collect Mexican folk art and Mexican pottery.  Through the years, thanks to one mishap or another, I have amassed a few broken pieces that I am now incorporating into my mosaics.  The old Mexican shards are getting a nueva vida (new life).  I hope you enjoy them as much as I do making them!
